Already/Yet

Hello all.  For those of you that were not here on a very chilly and cold Monday morning, we did Unit 17 in the Focus on Grammar (green) book on the present perfect with already and yet.  The homework assigned were pages 196 - 198, exercises #1-5.  Sorry if the website above isn't working so well.  I hope to see you all on a much warmer Wednesday!

Week 3

Hello all!  I've been feeling a little "under the weather" lately.  The expression "to feel under the weather" is an English idiom and normally means that someone is feeling sick with the cold and flu.  Don't worry!  I should be all rested and recovered for tomorrow's class but I hope all of you take good care of yourselves.

We talked about adjectives and adjectives and adverbs last week.  Specifically, we did Units 23 and 24 (pages 268 - 285).  If you were absent on any day last week, please make sure to study these pages as we will continue with adjectives and adverbs next week.  Also, if you would like the handouts and the quiz we used in class, please email me and I will send them to you.

Take care and I will see everyone tomorrow!

Dangerous Apples

Welcome to a new week at GEA IAMIGO!  It's a little rainy and windy today so dress appropriately!

Today we started talking about adjectives and adverbs.  The pages we did in class, as well as the homework, can be found by clicking on today's event (November 8th) in the calendar at the very top.

We did some mad lib exercises on the Internet where we used nouns, verbs, and adjectives to create very silly and funny stories!  Today, we got some stories about dangerous apples, knife pies, and a delicious Jennifer.

Dangerous apple?

If you would like to try this fun exercise, you can find it here.

We will continue with adjectives on Wednesday.  See you then!

Happy Halloween!

Hello!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween this weekend.  Remember to not eat too much candy!

Although it's still a little early in the semester, I have been thinking about organizing a field trip in a few weeks.  I"m sure everyone wants a day to relax and explore!  To the right of this post is a poll where you can select and choose what kind of field trip you would like to go on.  Alternatively, you can also suggest a destination by commenting on this post.  I will also be making an announcement in class.

See you on Monday!

Welcome!

Welcome to the website for GEA's Grammar/Oral Skills class for session 5!  On this website, you'll find links to documents, handouts, and information related to the class and any lessons we do.

Today we talked about cultural misunderstandings and began the class with a very funny video as an example.

Here's another video on cultural misunderstandings.  I would like you to:

  1. Watch the video (as many times as you need to).
  2. Answer the question in the poll to the left of this post.
